The walking trails of Cairns.

The city of Cairns is blessed with many walking trails, suitable for all levels of fitness.

Examples include the trails of the Redlynch Valley that follow Freshwater Creek and The Red Arrow hill climb that begins from the Cairns Botanic Gardens.

Future trails - those that are yet to be fully completed, or are still on the drawing board - include the Northern Beaches Leisure Trail from the Cairns CBD to Palm Cove, and The Wangetti trail that will link Palm Cove with Port Douglas.

The Northern Beaches Leisure Trail is currently being constructed in sections. A new shared pathway and bridge was built across Barr Creek which now connects Machans Beach with Holloways Beach.

A new beach-side bridge across Deep Creek has just been completed, providing pedestrian and cycle access between Kewarra Beach with Clifton Beach.

Accessibility

The pathways are designed as suitable for young families using prams, people using wheelchairs, seniors with mobility devices, cyclists and pedestrians.
